Our Story

A hilltop tradition, poured into every glass

Nestled along 2551st Road in La Salle, August Hill Winery began with a simple conviction: that great wine does not need a famous address — it needs time, attention, and the right soil.

Our vines are tended by hand. Our batches are small. Every bottle carries the quiet confidence of a place that refuses to rush.

Whether you are stopping by after a drive through the Illinois countryside or planning a full afternoon on the hill, we welcome you with open doors and poured glasses.

Our Wines

From vine to glass

Red

Hill Reserve Red

A structured blend with dark fruit, subtle oak, and a finish that lingers like evening light over the vineyard.

White

August Hill Chard

Crisp and bright, with notes of pear and citrus. Designed for warm afternoons and easy conversation.

Rosé

Sunset Hill Rosé

Delicate strawberry and watermelon, balanced with a clean minerality. Our most requested pour by the glass.

Guest Words

What visitors say

A quiet corner of Illinois that feels worlds away from the highway. The wines are honest, the setting is beautiful, and we left wanting to come back.

— A regular weekend visitor

We hosted our engagement celebration here and it was exactly what we imagined — rustic, warm, and full of character. The staff made us feel at home.

— A recent private event guest

The Hill Reserve is unlike anything I've had at other local wineries. You can tell they take their time with this. A true gem in the region.
